Kettle Creek Valley Show Welcome to the Kettle Creek Valley Outdoor show website. The Kettle Creek Valley is located in the heart of the Allegheny mountain range. The valley offers thousands of acres of state forest land to miles of fishable tributaries and mountain streams. This show was created 4 years ago by members of the Kettle Creek Valley Business Association to showcase what there is to do in the Kettle Creek Valley. Our area, although small in population offers a large array of activities for the outdoor enthusiast.Whether you are a fly fishing enthusiast, a photographer, a hiker, snowmobiler, motorcycler, hunter, or just enjoy watching nature and viewing the picturest sites and scenes. The show encompasses a schedule of the entire year of events which happen in the kettle creek valley and surrounding area. Our family oriented show is geared to be a fun and educational experience for all who attend. We have something for the entire outdoor family at our show. Whether you are a fly fishing enthusiast, a bass fisher, a game hunter or you dream of viewing elk in the wild, this is the show for you. From local craft venders to gun dealers we have it all covered at the Kettle Creek Valley Outdoor Show.We have a sanctioned National Wild Turkey Federation calling contest. There are 4 divisions, Open, Amateur, Friction and Youth. Great prizes like cash based on registration, Plaques sponsored by Kettle Creek/Tamarack Sportsmans, Cross Fork Sportsmans and Top Calls for Open and Friction. Certificates and plaques for Amateur. Youth is calling for a 20 gauge shotgun sponsored by the Great Outdoors Conservancy and plaques plus a grab bag. All Youth entries are registered for a drawling for a Guided Turkey Hunt sponsored by Steve Benna of Kettle Creek Lodge.We have a lot of active nonprofit organizations committed to conserving our wild life and the outdoors in hole attending our show. There is a great commitment to conservation of our outdoors so that our hunting and fishing resources will be there for years to come. Booths have donated to these organizations for you to learn all about the great work being done. These groups offer information on all of the Kettle Creek Valley.Please join us at our show and prepare and plan for your year of spending time in the Kettle Creek Valley.

LECTURE SCHEDULE – TOWNSHIP BUILDING NEXT TO THE FIRE HALL
12:00 – 12:45 West Branch Restoration Initiative Rebecca Holler, OSM/VISTA representing Trout Unlimited. Trout Unlimited launched the West Branch Susquehanna Restoration Initiative in 2004. This initiative is aimed at the restoration of coldwater streams and the ultimate recovery of the West Branch Susquehanna River. Trout Unlimited began its work on abandoned mine pollution in the lower Kettle Creek watershed, where it has been working in partnership with the Kettle Creek Watershed Association since 1998. More than 1,200 stream miles are polluted by abandoned mine drainage throughout the West Branch Susquehanna, which is the number one source for pollution to Pennsylvania's waterways. Rebecca Holler is currently the Office of Surface Mining/ AmericorpVISTA representing Trout Unlimited's Eastern Abandoned Mine Program. Prior to her current position she received her BS in Biology at Elizabethtown College.
1:00 – 1:45 Pennsylvania Owls Jackie Flynn, Sinnemahoning State Park. Owls are amazing, specialized birds, and Pennsylvania is home to several species… everything from the diminutive saw-whet to the “tiger of the air”…the great horned owl. Join park naturalist Jackie Flynn for an informative presentation on the special adaptations that make these night-time predators so superbly suited to their place in the ecosystem. Jackie M. Flynn is an Environmental Education Specialist at Sinnemahoning State Park, and is responsible for developing and producing environmental education, outdoor recreation, and interpretive programs for school groups and general public audiences who visit the park. Prior to joining DCNR, Ms. Flynn was employed by the University of Pittsburgh, the school where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and English Writing. Before joining the staff at Sinnemahoning, she served as park naturalist for Yellow Creek State Park in Indiana County, and for Sizerville State Park near Emporium.
